Daniel P. Riley

Daniel P. Riley is an American fantasy author, writing coach, and former educator whose whimsical tales transport readers to fantastical realms filled with wonder and moral depth. A lifelong enthusiast of gaming, roleplaying games, anime, and classic literature, Riley has long harbored a dream of authorship, drawing inspiration from pre-1980s masters like Roger Zelazny and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Raised on stories that emphasized perseverance and heroism, he honed his narrative skills through tabletop roleplaying in his youth, crafting action-packed adventures for friends before channeling that creativity into novels.
Beyond writing, Riley mentors aspiring authors via his website Whimsyland.org, hosts the indie-focused Laureate Discord community, and co-hosts the Iron Age Knights YouTube series.
Active on X as @Misterdpriley—where he quips about being "If Gandalf were Ben Franklin"—he continues to build a vibrant indie career, claiming an "alleged" New York Times bestseller status with wry humor. Through his stories, Riley invites readers to "come, stay awhile, and listen," opening doorways to the wild worlds of his imagination.
